PRESIDENT
I would like to wish all SAGINS members a successful year ahead.

As the newly elected President of SAGINS, I hope that during my term in office we may  reach our goals.

Communication is very important to ensure continued success of any organisation, I therefore would like to encourage all members and the committee members to assist. We are in the process of setting up the SAGINS website, which will give more nurses access to information and establish a link internationally.

I would like to welcome Maré back as Editor of the GIT Gossip, and thank Christine for agreeing to assist with the “old format” of the newsletter. We will also be focusing on the smaller units, with regard to training.

Maré attended the advanced Nurses and Technicians course in the United Kingdom and has been asked to continue training in South Africa wherever the need arises. So please contact the Committee if you feel that your unit need advice or training. Don’t forget that your Area Representative is there to assist and guide you.

The next congress will be hosted by Eastern Cape in Port Elizabeth, and we hope to see many members attending, and presenting papers, so start planning now !!
Good luck

SAGINS PRESIDENT
Belinda Thomson
