SAGINS EDUCATION FUND
 
MISSION STATEMENT

The South African Gastrointestinal Nurses Society is a professional organisation, that aims to unite nurses and associates dedicated to the field of Gastroenterology. The Society endeavours to encourage professional development through education, training and research to provide optimal 
patient care.
 
SAGINS EDUCATION FUND
Please submit your application at least 30 days prior to the event as approval has to be obtained by the full Committee. 
  • Chairman of the Education Fund (Maré van Wyk)
  • Chairman of SAGINS (Belinda Thomson)
  • 1 SAGES executive committee member
  • 2 Longstanding SAGINS members (Mavis Jordaan, Nellie Breytenbach)

SELECTION CRITERIA
2 year membership for local events
5 years for international events - Curriculum Vitae required


OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
The membership period criteria may only be reduced by the Committee if the member has contributed significantly to the field of Gastroenterology.
Only written applications will be accepted.
Scholarships shall be awarded at the discretion of the SAGINS Education Fund Committee. 
Members may not re-apply within two years of receiving a scholarship. The society will pay for accommodation/travel and registration only (no daily subsistence).
No cash refunds will be made without original invoices or travel documents on return
The committee shalll not be responsible for travel arrangements but need to approve final arrangements. 
A full report will be submitted to the Chairman within 60 days after the 
event. Application forms must be submitted to The Chairman of the Education Fund.
